Some things you just can't 'undo'. If you are a 'fixer' this is a hard concept to grasp.
You see,... fixers like to fix..it makes them feel more in control of their lives. Oh, I am certain there are deep seeded reasons we are all,... the way we are.
There are personality studies, temperament studies, lifestyle studies, and etc.
Each serve a purpose and all allow us to dig a bit deeper into the 'psyche'.
We begin to understand what makes us tick...when we look past the surface.
Me, I'm a thinker...I love words, the study of words, communicating and listening and watching and learning about life,...simply by paying attention. And, yes...I've 'been' a fixer.
Though, I have to say... ...I have "come a long way baby......"(some of you will remember that little diddy, others of you will think in a whisper.."she's weird", either way you are both right, and that's okay with me).
So, today I have been thinking about those of us who are,...or have been fixers.
Having moved through some of this, I feel like I have earned the right to say this. (Kind of like when a redneck makes fun of a redneck, it's only funny if you actually are a redneck,..then...you can laugh...otherwise it's just mean)..
Anyway...
To all of the fixers out there...It is 'way past time'.... to let it go!!!!!
The burdens you carry,... serve one purpose alone...
and that is....to simply be..
"a burden,...that 'you' are carrying"...
If you never lay the burden down, you'll never feel the release of the weight.
The best part, is when you willingly release the burden...you find that it was never really yours to begin with. In that...GOD alone... knows the depth of the situation and can touch hearts in ways,...
you only dreamed of...
SO, Why Not..
Why not leave it with Him....??
Let Him work alone...
He is big enough to handle all of Creation...and big enough to handle the tiniest of details...He leaves fingerprints in your life...You can't always see the fingerprint....But He has been,... and is there.. in your life and especially in the life of those you carry the burden for......
He is working out His burden..and scooping you up, all at the same time....
I certainly can't undo anything, and you know what...that's fine with me...I never have been very good at looking past the surface, but God is...He is always !!!!... at work behind the scenes...
I'll probably always be a thinker...and maybe some of us,... will always want to 'fix', but..
Praise God...that we are a work in progress...and when decide to listen for HIM,
He will gently remind us,.... it's "way past time to lay the burden down"...
We will learn to let it go !!!, Why?
Because,... we can!
Leave your burden with the only One...who leaves fingerprints unseen...
Whatever you are carrying...give it to Him..He will agree to carry the weight...for you..
"Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me; for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light." Matthew 11:28-30
