I am a reader by nature, if there is a sign, I read it, if there are words
along the highway, I read them.
Signs are almost always placed to give direction or a message of some sort. But at times, the message needs to be questioned.
In fact, if it doesn't line up with what God says about Himself or yourself or your situation, the message should always be questioned.
I drove past the little tabernacle. The words were there for all to see...This is what I read.."satan likes you, but our God Loves you"...my head cocked, while my brows furrowed...and I began to question what I was seeing.
It really struck me...It is half right. I am glad they got the part of God loving us right, but I was floored that a church would put it out there....that satan, 'likes' us.
He most certainly does not!
He is the enemy of our soul!
To think that he 'likes' us for one split second is so far from the truth of the Scripture. God's Word tells us that That 'satan prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may desire.'...His Word further reveals that he comes to 'kill, steal and destroy'.
He whispers self-defeating lies and half-truths hoping to lead us further away from the One who loved us enough to call us by name. He desires to deceive us and tempt us away from the very One Who will lovingly lead us into His marvelous plan, if only we are willing to follow by waving the white flag rippling in surrender. We trust Him alone for the rescue.
When is the last time, the enemy spoke a half truth to your soul?

Lie: 'You're not good at that!,' - Truth: You are good at what He calls you to. (in fact you are very good)
Romans 12:6a "We have different gifts, according to the grace given to reach of us..."
Or, maybe like me sometimes I tell myself for him ....
Lie: 'I look old.', - Truth: 'You are older,(and that's okay). It is time to release the vision of beauty, that the world has been feeding you. You are beautifully and 'intricately woven' (read Psalm 139).
Lie: 'I'll never get there', Truth: It takes time and persistence and faith to achieve the worthiest of our dreams.
Philippians 3:14 "I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus."
If God has given the dream, he enables the dreamer.
Lie: I'm so stupid'...Truth: You are smart in a million ways.
Genesis 1:27 "So God created mankind in His own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.
The list is endless.
You know the lies, you have read them to yourself. You know, because you have played their parts so many times, that they are now written all over your face, for others to read.
But, just like the sign at the tabernacle...we only got it half right.
So isn't it about time, we get the whole truth and begin NOW to unrelentingly question these half true statements and full blown lies!
You have been created for a mighty purpose. You can no longer rely on something that sounds right, when God's word tells us differently.
It is time to get out our Bibles and ask God to lead us into the Truth. We will then find within us the mighty purpose that has always been there.
It may take some soul searching. But, 'if we search for Him, He will find us, when we search with all our heart'. (Jeremiah 29:11-13)
He is faithful to His design..He is faithful to reveal the beauty.
He tells us to write His Words upon our hearts. When we do, we will then see, we are right in the middle of the greatest rescue of our lives, by the Only One who can.
Indeed, He does LOVE us, and that is the whole truth.
Nothing but the truth.
And you are held by God.
