Recently, I have been reminded, how very precious life is....
I have met several people in different stages of their lives, experiencing the pain and confusion of tragic accidents and the certain deaths of those they love.
These words from a message, that I heard at church recently, really caused me to think,....
"you are either about to experience difficulties,... are in the middle of them, or ....are coming out of them".
Many of the ones I met..are right in the middle.
The pain in their lives; is splashing unrelentingly across what was once a peaceful shore.
Ask yourself, where am I , right now?
No matter where you are...the answer to finding refuge...is, in positioning yourself to the Rescuer.
No one really wants to think about it, especially if you are gliding along on gentle waters....breathing in the fresh air...and living in the beauty of the moments of your life.
But now,.. is the time to acknowledge that storms are always,... somewhere on the horizon.
It's okay to admit the obvious...acknowledging this truth,...doesn't cause trials to fall upon us...
Trials are a natural part of living in a broken world...
Acknowledging this, sets us free from the fear of the unknown, because we then learn to position ourselves safely with the only One who can calm the storms.
I can "choose this day whom I will serve". Joshua 24:15
Will I live in fear of the future or embrace the One who lovingly reminds us that He has never lost sight of me?
Choosing to place our hope in the One who knows us, allows us to drop anchor and rest for awhile. Releasing control, even though rough and turbulent waters can and will...rock our world. regardless of who we are, eventually brings peace and calm.
Now is the time to dig deep into God' Word, to fall on our knees in prayer and to adore the One who can carry us through the darkest times.
Position yourself now, beside the living Christ...
He promises to "never leave you or forsake you". (Hebrews 13:5)
And as the waves crash around you, remember, you don't have to be able to swim...you just need to be able to hold on .
