Psalm 95:1-7
"Come, let us sing to the Lord!
Let us shout joyfully to the Rock of our salvation.
Let us come to him with thanksgiving.
Let us sing psalms of praise to him.
For the Lord is a great God,
a great King above all gods.
He holds in his hands the depths of the earth
and the mightiest mountains.
The sea belongs to him, for he made it.
His hands formed the dry land, too.
I loved the beginning of this scripture...but the last part????
It caught my attention...
"If only you would listen to his voice today..."
I thought I was listening...
The rest of the Psalm from verses 8-10 read this way.
"The Lord says, “Don’t harden your hearts as Israel did at Meribah,
as they did at Massah in the wilderness.
For there your ancestors tested and tried my patience,
even though they saw everything I did.
For forty years I was angry with them, and I said,
‘They are a people whose hearts turn away from me.
They refuse to do what I tell them."
Okay, now I'm thinking..'are you talking to me??'
This is not the way I had planned to start my day...
Verse 11 says..
"So in my anger I took an oath:
‘They will ....never enter my place of rest.”
Before we get ourselves worked into a 'tizzy', and feel entirely hopeless...lets take a step back...
How do we understand, what He is saying ??
Well, first, we must look a little deeper..
In this part of scripture, The psalmist is addressing the Israelites..and their trip to the Promised land..
They wandered for 40 years, getting to a place that should have been an 11 day journey..
Rebellion marked their life...and the bulk of these people were never allowed to enter the land of milk and honey.
Okay, so the good news here is...the "bulk'' of these people...
Does not have to mean,..... me or you.....
Rebellion does not have to mark us !!!
When we bow down,
When we kneel before Him, and say, "show me Your way, Lord"
He will !!!
It is not too late...
There was a remnant and a future generation that God opened His arms to.
Those who, in spite of it all, continued , continue, continued !!!
to search for His way in the wilderness...
they are the ones who were allowed to enter into His rest,
and into His promised land...
It's not too late..Yes, that is what it says...

Come, let us worship and bow down.
Let us kneel before the Lord our maker,
for he is our God.
We are the people he watches over,
the flock under his care.
Let us kneel before the Lord our maker,
for he is our God.
We are the people he watches over,
the flock under his care.

It's time to have a heart to heart with your Father...
Who do you...... want Him..... to know you as..??
The Rebellious or the Remnant..??
