Father God,
Mere words cannot begin to express the gratitude that is buried deeply within my heart.
I can picture a thousand faces scattered across the world. One by one turning to millions.
They cry out to their god, they clamor and strive to be good enough, yet they are not and we are not
.....one by one..they die...many alone...
Inhabit them this day, as only you can...filter Your Presence into their lives...Grant each one the sensibility that You are there. May they find themselves at the intersection of grace and hope in Christ..May they search for You and find You, when they search with all their hearts...(Jeremiah 29:11-14a)
Your Spirit is alive and well, and more than able to accomplish this in them.
Father...as millions upon millions remember your death and celebrate Your Resurrection...maybe for the first time or the hundredth time...
may it be somehow different,..'this time'...
May we pass through these holy days a changed person.
May the power of the resurrection...resurrect new life in each of us.....
a LIFE that is truly seeking to serve You with every fiber of our being.
May we never again be guilty of simply 'going ' to church on Easter Sunday..because we think that is what You want and that somehow that it is enough to make up for living our own life the rest of the year..
Father may this Easter Sunday, be a resurrection of our souls and spirit...and of our love for You...
May we be willing to go deeper and look deeper...and serve You by committing to seek YOU in this way,
May we learn from the early church...
In Acts 2 we read in part ...
''they were devoting themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer''.
Lord, in some of these,..
We can do alone...
But in all of these...
You are calling us to to be with others...
Lord, You know that we need each other..
May we never again accept the reasoning that going to church twice a year is what You want...
You want our lives...
Father God, as we prepare our hearts to be ever so thankful for eternity..
May we resolve to seek hard after You...
Lord when you came down to earth...you changed the way this game of life is played...From this day forward..may we recognize that unlike the millions who are still trying to get to their paper gods...
You gave us the opportunity to be set free, when You willingly gave Your One perfect life for the billions upon billions who would pass through this earth...
Father God...these are mere words...but from our humble hearts...
We thank you...by committing to search hard after Your Way...knowing full well...we cannot do it alone...
May Your sacrifice cause us,..to live a life of obedience.
Amazing...God...we thank You...
we come humbly God...
we thank You...
change us..oh God
please
...change me.......
(never too late..)
In Christs' Name ...Amen and Amen..
(please take a moment and listen to this powerful song..please...it is freeing)
