"There is a Place"

Lately..
It seems, while the rest of the northern hemphisphere celebrates the long hazy days of summer,
my days seem to screech past at lightning speed.
One day slips quickly into the present only to be eclipsed quickly by the past.
I find myself longing for those carefree days growing up on the farm...
When all that mattered was the simple fact that it was summertime..
The creeks ran freely with clean cold water..bees buzzed merrily...from flower to flower .
and the shadows from the sun and the the footprints in the rain were the sweet, secret friends that we played with..
We were free
Free to be ... Anyone we dreamed ...

Do you remember these days..?

Not too long ago
We had the world by its tail and the moon in a lasso...

We remember and yet sometimes we forget.
That every day we have been given has been carefully sifted
through the Masters Hand

We remember days we would rather forget
Days we wish had never happened
and cling sweetly to....faraway happier times..
They are all there
Woven carefully into our tapestries ...

Even though life skips as quickly
as stones skittering on the surface of the pond..
We can rest assured that what really matters
is not how quickly life passes..
What we wish we could forget
Or the things or the people that we long to hold yet again ...
What we must remember...
Is ....
It was "never ours to hold..."
We were only there to share...

For our moments past
Our moments in the here and now
Or those yet to come..
Are held securely..
By the One who offers eternity
A place where time rests...securely with the Father of time..

In this there is peace...

Psalm 40:5 Many, LORD my God, are the wonders you have done, the things you planned for us. None can compare with you; were I to speak and tell of your deeds, they would be too many to declare.
