" Calling All Geniuses "

I didn't like it that it bothered me

But it did...

I tried to ignore this little inkling that would creep quietly into the back of my mind.

I'm not sure when I started to question.

It didn't matter.

It was time to deal with it!

I wanted to be free of it!!

Everyone has something they are either dealing with ...

Have dealt with....

Or will deal with...

For me, it was "prayer"

And this one burning question...

Why should "I" pray if God already knows the outcome?

This is an issue not new to mankind

In fact, pre-destination and prayer are weighty issues that I admit ...

cannot be adequately dealt with 

in a simple blog.

However...I feel quite led to at least share my journey and what I believe...

I believe we all have 

a point of reference from which ....

we arrive at truth...

Born into this world

I grew up with a sense of understanding right from wrong...
I think that this is a basic truth for most all.

I could never have understood this concept 

unless there be One 

beyond myself..beyond my limited intelligence

One who would allow me to understand the logical basis for right and wrong...
through this simple concept as presented by CS LEWIS in 'Mere Christianity"
of crooked vs. straight.

It doesn't take a genius to understand that 

"we"

are obviously,...the created!, regardless of how many Pulitzer Prizes we have awarded. To the geniuses of our times.

With this in mind I found myself searching for the "Creator"

The Genius behind the genius...

I find there are many who

 'say they have'

the answers to the great questions of life..

I also find that in all of these..

who have 'their answers'..

There is one man, 'they' all reference

One to whom, respect is given.

All of these, 

with all of their answers point and reference this One amazing man 

as a good teacher.

This man called Jesus...

The same One whose very life was a life filled with prayer 

So with all of this I find myself respectfully looking to Him

The Good Teacher

The One who is worthy

To learn why I should pray

My question of 

"why should I pray"

instead becomes...

How can "I"
the created one not pray..?

to the very One, who creates!!

He is !! who He says He is..

He is...my point of reference!!

If you are seeking a logical place from which to come....

Suddenly it makes logical sense to come to this very quiet place of understanding.

I find myself acknowledging 

His Words, 

His Ways...

I cannot ignore this man who mystified the mystics 

I cannot ignore this man who fulfilled a myriad of prophesies.

I especially, cannot ignore this man 

who modeled prayer for me in the garden of Gethsamane.

For as He prayed 

He pleaded a grief, matched only 

by the souls of eternity..

And Then ...

He obediently fulfilled

His destiny.....on the cross..

Was He predestined ? 

yes...

Did He yet continue to pray.?

Indeed!

Did He call us to follow Him?

beyond no doubt...

I have come to this place 

of trust 

I will follow hard after Him,

For He knows the way.

I believe we are on a journey.

And praying to our Creator God

Is so much more 

than getting what we want

It is about communion and trust

It is about relationship and love.

It is laying down our own limited "genius"...

In exchange for hope...and answered prayers..

Understanding possibly for the 1st time that 

"we, the created" will never have the capacity to ""fully understand""

until that day 

in which we will be fully known..

Till then..may we truly be willing to follow hard after this man...

the greatest teacher of all time

Our great God..

May we trust this Man who sought solace within Himself 

The One Who changed destiny..for those who have the faith 

and the 'genius' to believe
