It has been one year since Malaysia #370 went missing.
In honor of the passengers, families and friends of those who still live with the every day pain of wondering-I am re-publishing my original post in their honor.
May we continue to pray....
On a clear starlit night, in March of 2014..
In honor of the passengers, families and friends of those who still live with the every day pain of wondering-I am re-publishing my original post in their honor.
May we continue to pray....
On a clear starlit night, in March of 2014..
when Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 departed Kuala Lumpur.....
Life ebbed and flowed for the 239 known souls on board.
Life ebbed and flowed for the 239 known souls on board.
But...what appeared to be a routine flight, and for those whom held passage...
our imaginations.. have been suspended....
questions linger and the unknown seems to loom like deep shadows in uncharted waters and in the crushing waves of the Indian Ocean..
we shake our heads....
we offer up prayer...
and we hope....
Their fate has been captured by our wondering...
Hearts and minds....have been transfixed to any information that might piece together this mysterious puzzling pain.
Nations around the globe...are beating their chests and wailing.
Prayers, flowers...and altars have been set up and sought after.
It has taken me this long to even barely begin to wrap my mind around the unthinkable....
I seek and find comfort in the Word of God...as given in the Holy Scriptures.
I think upon the 4 letter word called...
hope..
I am mercifully reminded what God allowed a dear friend to say, when we were discussing the possible places and unthinkable outcomes.
She simply said...
"Good thing our God goes there too"
The words were simple and wise...
They certainly caused me a moment to pause,
a moment to breathe...
to remember....and to hope...
And then this scripture mercifully graced my mind...
rekindling the hope that seemed to be dancing just out of reach...
"If I take the wings of the morning, and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea....
even there shall thy Hand lead me, and Thy right hand shall hold me'
Psalm 139: 9,10
You see, we can postulate theories and try to piece everything together...
Time and circumstance may even conspire to give answers to this great mystery...
But in the end, when the question of where and how....
transforms itself into
the question of why...
we must ask ourselves...
What will I cling to...when answers aren't enough?
To what shall I cling, but hope...??
Hope in the unseen...hope in the unknown..
1 Corinthians 13:12, grants us a glimpse of clarity to come..
"For now we see through a glass, darkly;
but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known."
The fate of flight 370 is already known, by the very One who dwells in the remotest parts of the sea..by the One who dwells in the arid deserts of Africa... or in the desolate mountains of Pakistan..
Nothing is ever truly lost...when we remember...
that,..there is no place...
God is not!!
Application:
Do you feel Him holding you... in the unknown places of your own life..?
A broken past or uncertain future?
If so, thank Him. And reach out to someone.. who may need the hope you have found.
If not, reach out in hope to the One who dwells in the unknown....then be patient to wait, when it seems unclear.
Remember:
Continue to pray for the hurting...
So that all might have hope within....
to remember yet again...
There is no place that God is not....
