If Only We Knew

There's an old saying that we have all heard. It speaks of 'walking a mile in another man's mocassins'

I have a friend who volunteers her talents at our church.
One day she said, "my whole perspective has changed, now that I'm doing this myself"

It is easy to criticize when we sit back and watch life revolve around us. Whether it be the 'crazy' driver who pulled out in front of us, or the distracted mother who absently hands candy or toys to the screaming child in the supermarket.

We can quickly ease ourselves atop the pedestal of life. We sit there perched, with lips drawn, and eyebrows raised, imagining ourselves handling any given situation, so much more efficiently. Oh, but if only we knew....

God has called each of us never to think more highly of ourselves than we should, but rather in humility consider others better than ourselves. (Philippians 2:3,4)

Challenge yourself this day to try and squeeze your feet into those moccasins....and watch your perspective change, as you see for yourself that some miles are longer than others.

Ephesians 5:2

...and walk in love, just as Christ also loved you and gave Himself up for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God as a fragrant aroma
