When I was a little girl...I wanted to be a nurse......I wanted to help people ,and of course, I liked the little white hats. they use to wear....
Later, I wanted to make my mark in the world of acting..
If we remember back, I think most of us had something,..we wanted to be..
When I hear people tell me their dreams of what or whom they hoped to become. It seems like these,...
are almost always dreams of something that made a difference...
a firefighter or policeman
a schoolteacher
a pilot
an astronaut
a lawyer or a doctor
a secretatry
an inventor
a ballerina or an artist
or......
'I want to be a mom' (just like mine)....or 'I want to do, what my dad did'.... or a favorite aunt or uncle
(Always, we wanted to be.... like someone we admired)
Some dared to dream even bigger..
Our dreams are as many, as we are...
Some, dared to believe they..could be president...
Our lives are still unfolding, regardless of age.. and for some, we have become who we wanted,
for others..we are still trying to figure it all out...
So what about today..what can you do...... that will make a difference..in your life and in the lives of others...
Needless to say..the Presidential Election is upon us...this is a place where we can make a difference...
but only, if we actually vote...This is a place where we can effectively change our future.
a place where the economy can be restored...
a place where babies can live "without fear" in the safety of the womb..
(after all, they have a dream too...)
I have heard people say...
well, we can't change that...but I say we must...
Polls are being held responding to "likely voters"...and the race is in a dead heat...
So...what about you...are you the "unlikely voter" whose voice hasn't been heard ???....Are you the voter, who will only vote along party lines ???,
regardless,..
of the issues that tear at your heart ???...
I would love to tell you how you 'should vote'...but isn't that the beauty of living in these United States!!!
We can vote anyway we want..or not..
Yet, Let us never abuse that privilege .. may we remember....
We will stand alone before God, to answer for every keystroke...for every compromising little thought...
I may not have become a nurse or an actress...
But God has shaped me into a godly woman with Christ-like values....
and I WILL VOTE for 'the love of this country'...and I WILL VOTE for the baby's right to live,
for the baby who will one day become president...or who will become the schoolteacher..or become the mom or the dad, that their own children will admire...
We are at a crossroads in this great land...We must care enough to rock the world with the "unlikely voters"
Get out and vote...your dreams can still make a difference!!!
Pray, pray, pray.... before .....you cast your ballot...
2 Chronicles 16:9
Amen, very well said.
