"How Freedom Begins For You"

"A man of many companions may come to ruin, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother." -Proverbs 18:24

In ancient Rome, armies traditionally carried olive branches as a sign of surrender. In Greece, the olive branch was often used in weddings and various ceremonies. It is a symbol of peace and dates back to the the time of Noah. The dove returned to Noah with an olive branch as a sign that life had indeed sprang forth after a time of great flooding, after a time of great trial.

Think, for a moment on a forgotten friend. Maybe you are hurt, maybe they are hurt. Maybe, it will never be the same. Maybe you will never be the same. And, maybe...just maybe.... that is a very good thing.

You see,.. God is very good at renewal. But renewal can never happen, unless you are willing to trust Him to begin again.

"See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the desert and streams in the wasteland."-Isaiah 43:19

Little by little God is changing you and He is changing them. But the business of your life...is to look in the mirror and allow Him to redeem you.

Now is the time....to offer the olive branch and extend peace and reconciliation.

Regardless of their response...and even though, it may never be quite the same...
A dove will freely return to "you",with an olive branch held secure....

Life will spring forth within you...
And, when you lay your head down, you will know you have done...
all that you can....
And that is a very good thing.

"In peace I will lie down and sleep,
    for you alone, Lord,
make me dwell in safety."-Psalm 4:8

  1. "Regardless of their response" - oh, that is unconditional love! And that is what He calls us to. I'd never thought of the history of the olive branch before - it enlightened - beautifully done!
