No one is ever,.... exactly who..... we think they are.
We tend to put others on pedestals. We compare ourselves with them, based on what we consider important.
Sometimes we think, if only I had their gifts, their looks. their career, their life, their money, their family..etc..Then I would be...
confident
successful
happy
satisfied
content....
If only, if only....
But who are these, that we hold out as examples??...
They are mere mortals, though equally loved by our gracious heavenly Father.
We EACH have been created with certain gifts and abilities.
Different gifts to be certain.
However, He DID NOT create us as creatures to be compared.
Yet, He most certainly created us with a uniqueness to be treasured!!!!!
We are not to think too highly, nor too lowly of ourselves.
But, instead we are told ...in Philippians 2:3
"Don't be selfish; don't try to impress others.
Be humble, thinking of others as better than yourselves."
The scriptures also gently remind us where we come from...
Genesis 1 :26,27 ....Tells us that we are 'made in HIS Image'
and picture this,...
In Genesis 2:7 we read that HE....
'breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul'
We are who we are, because of Him!!!
The key is in letting God be our visionary...
He bears the weight of who we have been created to be,...
We bear the weight, of looking intently to Him and His ways...to remake us...
He is not finished working with any of us...
When I think about how intricately and wonderfully God has made each of us, I am mesmerized at HIS Goodness..
Rest assured, there is but one place, where we can go to find,...who we are meant to be....
and that place is to the ONE who made us in His image,
for His work,
for our good and...
for His glory.
"being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus." (Philippians 1:6)
When you are tempted to look to others, wondering about their gifts and credits, remember..that before you were born...
God had a blueprint perfected and uniquely designed with your life in mind...
And, HE KNOWS exactly who you are meant to be...
