My husband has decided I need a monocle, because I am continually losing my reading glasses.
Currently, I have 3 pairs...
He found all 3 pairs yesterday,..randomly placed throughout the house.
I had been looking everywhere, and I made my frustration known, as this is a problem I have not found an adequate solution for, other than searching for them myself as I foolishly and randomly misplace them over and over again....
I must say it is a little aggravating to 'look' for lost glasses--without my glasses on...
Fortunately, my husbands' patience and love is not lost on me either...this....I see clearly.
As he patiently searched for them and kindly returned them to me, I could see a parallel emerging..
I often find myself also quite thankful, that likewise...God is ever so patient.
Patiently, He waits for us to come to terms with the things in life that really matter
I believe one of these issues that matter,....that will eventually come to light,..... are the truth of the scriptures....the inspired Word of God...
When I hold the scriptures as evidence of His calling on my life. It is then that I begin to see clearly.
I do not see a set of restrictions, designed to keep me bound...
I instead see an account of history that has unfolded in a most life giving way.
Many may reject His Word, but the history of the scriptures cannot be denied, for this I am also thankful.
He brings His Word back into my life again and again....
As we learn to filter life through the lens of His Word...we see clearly..perhaps for the first time..
This thought brings me back to His patience....
As I sit here and remember the foolishness of my youth..
Rather than regretting my blindness..I strive to allow these moments to become building blocks for a future of true living...
Patiently he has seen each of us, through uncharted waters....patiently loving us..patiently waiting..
And yet, we must remember that,....
While His patience is long suffering , it is not endless....( Romans 9:22-23)
2nd Corinthians 6:2 tells us that 'today is the day of salvation'..
When you decide to look a little deeper..He will be there..waiting patiently to love you and bring you into His Saving grace...
But don't wait forever...
His love and mercy shall never end...yet His patience..some day shall come to its end..
Life is right in front of you, just waiting......to be really lived..
As you go throughout your week...when your patience seems to be running its' course...
Remember there is ONE, who loves you deeply and patiently,..just as you are.
He loves you with a compassion that surpasses the foolishness of days gone by.
Come to Him, willing to see.... and thank Him that He has been, so patient......
Lamentations 3:22-24
"The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. “The Lord is my portion,” says my soul, “therefore I will hope in him.”
