"Defining Moments"

Sometimes when I write, I find myself re-reading and editing even the smallest of words in a particular placement within a sentence in order to convey what is trying to escape my mind.

Messages of hope suddenly begin to form for those
who may need to hear.
(often...it is me)
The more I listen and measure what I hear against God's Word, the more I learn.

I am so thankful, that every word He gives must first be sifted by Him.
After all is said and done, He is the true author of our lives.
I live in thankfulness and fascination of the power of words,
though sometimes, a bit intimidated.

I think we each can recall life moments when words have defined and or affected us.

Good or bad.
Words chosen wisely, yield hope and abundance.
While words recklessly spewed yield destruction.
Both effects,....
begin at a source deep within
and once released, stream freely.

Consider this..
Far beyond the words we speak...
there is a "well" chiseled, deep within.
Out of this well, flows the power to bring life or death to those to whom we speak...and even into ourselves.

Talk about an intimidating responsibility.
The scripture tells us we will be held accountable for every idle word.
It also says that a word carefully spoken is like apples of gold in netting's of silver.

My challenge for myself this week as well as my challenge to you is this.

"Out of the wellspring of our heart flow issues...of life."
Ask yourself...
Is there "life" within my well?

Will you consider with me, our words....
and consider how we place them into someone's story?
Hold yourself accountable for how and what you speak.
Will you edit with the careful thought of a skilled wordsmith or speaker?

Defining moments are all around us waiting to be brought to life.

It's really up to me and you
to make a life or death difference
with the words we speak...into someone's world.

Application:
If your well is dry or stagnant.
Go to the Source and Giver of all good things...
and ask Him to wash out the old ways and fill you with His LIFE giving way, so that when you speak words into someone's life, they will be life giving words.

Remember:  You can be part of someone's life giving memory if you speak words of life....(the same words you long to hear.)
