"Tangled in a Parachute"

Twas the night
before Good Friday
I was sound asleep.
Nothing was stirring,
except for my dreams....

Tossing and turning,
I awoke with a start.
Sensing a message
deep in my heart.

An old preacher was preaching,
every seat filled
Twas Easter Sunday..
And all were so still...

People sat rigid,
they had come out in droves.
Waiting to hear
What the old man spoke.

He began to teach
Of a hope so real
Some hearts were glazed
while others were healed.

It was dark in the room
So hard to see
Until I turned on a light
To a mysterious scene.

Two parachutes strewn
Tangled and absurd
One held a child,
the other a bird.

We sat transfixed
Wondering what it could mean?
Yet, 'He knew' in a second
As He set them free.

Slowly he bent
untangling the child.
Then he reached for the bird
Healing allowed.

The old man, turned.
Now fading from view.
What once seemed impossible
Had reached hearts, in the pew.

It was at this moment..
I awoke from the deep.
I wondered a moment
And fell back to sleep.

Innocent and free..
We are called to be...
Sometimes the child
Or a bird set free...

In each of our lives
there is an offer of rescue
A reason to hope
beyond tangled memories.

But sometimes, we find ourselves
longing to fly free and to live innocently.
We long for escape,
but the more we try
the more tangled things become.

No way out,
but for Him...reaching in!!!

It was for you alone,
that He died.
For each of us one by one.
He offers a parachute in perfect form.

And yet the parachute, can become an entanglement,
if we take for granted, what it was really meant to be.

If you are truly longing for freedom.
Let now be the moment
when His light finally dawns.

Will you make your yearly venture
to worship at the cross, in your local church?
Perhaps you faithfully attend.

Either way, like the child and the bird,
He is reaching and He is
tenderly seeing to your wounds.
Wherever, you may find yourself, please....
this Easter as you remember the cross,
and as you personally consider the reality
of His resurrection;
Remember this.
Even if your life has become messy, tangled, dark and painful.

Just reach for His hand
He will love you with healing.
And He WILL set you free.

(please take a moment and focus on this song,
just let Him love you)
