When you hold The Bible as your truth and as your standard for the way you live, then you will be willing to grow through the shadowy places, life takes you.
The Word of God when rightly divded (or studied and understood) will set you on an adventure of a lifetime. We are each in the middle of this great adventure, and it is exciting to know He is always willing to meet us right where we are, regardless of our past.
I sometimes wonder how we begin to change.
I wonder when we first realized, that the great and yet personal God of the Universe wanted to speak to us personally.
I think it starts with a subtle shift in our thoughts.
When 'something' we never considered before rises to the surface. We begin to see from a different and possibly deeper perspective.
I think this is what happened with Psalm 139. I have always read this scripture to understand the importance of life . That hasn't changed.
Life is God's creation.
It has never been something we could sustain, except for His touch.
And so, with Psalm 139 came a greater understanding and responsibility.
When you were nothing but a thought in someones mind, before your mother realized she was pregnant, you were still very much on God's timeline.
His Creation.
His Touch.
Psalm 139, insists,.. that you were not some random moment that could or should be stolen away.
When I read through this Psalm the other day, even though it is written as a Psalm of David , I took the perspective of a tiny baby in the womb speaking to the Heavenly Father.
The conversation between verses 1-12 is comforting and warm. (please be active, pick up your Bible and read them..His Word will set you free, keep your Bible open...so you can read further, as we dig a little deeper)
Then the conversation in verses 13-18 becomes very soothing....
To think these very words could have been spoken by 'us', as tiny babes, from this haven is humbling, and daunting at the same time.
Imagine yourself speaking to your Father in heaven, in the safety of the womb.
You are innocent,
You are alive,
You are loved....as you speak softly with the One who created you..
13 For you created my inmost being;
you knit me together in my mother’s womb.
14 I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
your works are wonderful,
I know that full well.
15 My frame was not hidden from you
when I was made in the secret place,
when I was woven together in the depths of the earth.
16 Your eyes saw my unformed body;
all the days ordained for me were written in your book
before one of them came to be.
17 How precious to me are your thoughts, God!
How vast is the sum of them!
18 Were I to count them,
they would outnumber the grains of sand—
when I awake, I am still with you.
When I read this scripture, it only reaffirmed what I already knew, and what you should know when and if you hold the Holy Scripture as your standard by which you measure Truth.
So, back to your Bible, (take a moment to read verses 19-22)
I had to wonder if these bloodthirsty men referred to, were indeed those who have 'no regard' for life.
Should we then,..be held responsible and rightly be compelled to hold life in the highest regard beyond all other motivations, especially in the political arena??
Absolutely...you have a voice and you have one vote..
The touch of life..has been ordained by God, since before time began. We do not define 'life' !!
Only the One who created it,..can cast the meaning.
God, the Creator of Life sees our value, when no one else knew we existed...
In the womb.
He sees and He loves.
Have we become so blind by the politics, that we are willing to sacrifice those without a voice,
Will their innocent blood be upon our heads when we go to the polls?
I am fully aware that this issue of life strikes each of us to the very core.
And it should strike at our beating hearts...
For each of us reading these thoughts are alive today, because no one stole away our right to live.
23Search me, God, and know my heart;
test me and know my anxious thoughts.
24 See if there is any offensive way in me,
and lead me in the way everlasting.

What standard are you using to figure out who you are and why you believe what you believe ?? Never allow yourself to fall into complacency.
IF you are using the Holy Scriptures, then a new light WILL begin to shine on your political leanings...
"Be diligent to present yourself approved to God as a workman who does not need to be ashamed, accurately handling the word of truth."
2 Timothy 2:15
As we read the last of the verses in this scripture, we are not left without hope...for in the end..it is our plea our whole life through to lead a life,...seeking the everlasting way...
He is always willing to meet us right where we are, regardless of our past.
Yet again, may re remember...
'Their decisions...... and our decision to vote for them,...will be upon us,...
when we stand humbly at the judgement seat of Christ. We will be held responsible for our one vote.'
